  1. Hey, George, I saw your insightful comment on another website…

DO25 and CO56 are sort of a loud “Screw you!” to the Anglican Communion, it seems to me.

Now it has been 20 years since I last saw you, more or less, but I thought I heard your voice in those words, so followed the link to see if this was indeed the same George. And it was. (The kicker was your link to Steve Lake’s blog…)

Steve lives just a block away from me, so the small-world irony gets thicker all the time.

All that to say, I couldn’t figure out a better way to drop you a note than to comment on this little comedy routine. Greetings! I hope all is well, and by the way my parents ran across you some time ago, though I don’t remember the circumstances beyond to say that it was while you were serving at some local CA church and they thought highly of you.

    blessings!

ps — I agree, “Screw You!” would be an apt 2-word summary of the TEC stance.

  2. No, Tony, it’s a stab at youth and imbeciles. Given that Theophiliacs are aging, married, having children, and whip-smart, they’re a far cry from the drooling video game players derided by Ferguson. Wait till you hit 40, then you’ll understand.
