NPR’s Planet Money brought together five economists from across the political spectrum and asked them to “Identify major economic policies they could all stand behind.” Here’s their list:

• Eliminate the mortgage interest tax deduction.
• End the tax deduction companies get for providing health-care to employees.
• Eliminate the corporate income tax.
• Eliminate all income and payroll taxes. All of them.
• Tax carbon emissions.
• Legalize marijuana.

Obviously, these guys will never make good politicians, regardless of how good they are as economists.

P.S. I should probably add that I’m against legalizing drugs.
