What to Expect When You Write about Revelation

As you know, I recently completed a Daily Word series on Revelation. Here’s one of the replies I received from an unknown correspondent:

In an attempt to prevent people from being distracted from the Truth, as well as a full-scale military confrontation between the United States/Israel and Iran, I suggest that you remove the information about the Revelation of John from your website and replace it with a link to:

    Wow.

    I enjoyed getting your comments on revelation though I wondered if you had read Osborne, Keener or even R Baukaum’s Theology of Revelation.

    Brian:

    I used Osborne’s commentary, together with Mounce’s, but I did not use Keener’s. I read both Theology of Revelation and Climax of Prophecy by Bauckham. I found a commentary by Steve Gregg to be very interesting. It was a parallel commentary, noting how each of the major schools of thought interprets each chapter of Revelation.

    George, the link does not work–there is some prefix “blocked::blocked::” which must be removed for it to work.

    Bizarre stuff. Suggesting you remove your commentary is more than a bit aggressive. But it fits the mold of the tripe found on the blog.

    I suggest that you do not remove your commentary, George, and tell him to replace HIS with YOURS, since yours is certainly much nearer the truth than his.

    Thanks, Steve! I fixed the link, and I’ll think about suggesting to “Michael” that he replace his commentary with mine. His site is filled with pretty weird stuff, IMHO.
