A terrifying shooting at an Aurora movie theater overnight left 13 people dead and about 38 people hurt.

Isaac Olivarez, a church planter in that area, reports: “Friends, PLEASE PRAY FOR DENVER TODAY! The movie theater shooting happened in an area my family and I frequent because it’s really close to our house. The police have already been calling a summer of violence here. Gangs from Denver and Aurora are going back and forth, a cop was killed in City Park recently, and now this. Just yesterday, God really was impressing on me to pray for HIS Spirit to be poured out on this city. Please pray.”

My colleague Mark Forrester posted this note on Facebook: “Highpoint Church in Aurora, CO has set up a toll-free line at 888-856-5960 where we can leave prayers and messages of support for those affected by today’s tragedy. They will edit these into a message for those who are grieving.”
